Another First Date With Your Sweetie!

"I don't know who you are, Henry...but I dream about you almost every night." -- Lucy

We absolutely love this movie.  It is almost 10 years old now, but it is a great one!

Great Romantic Comedy - The Wedding Singer

One of the best movies to watch for a good snuggle up good time is The Wedding Singer. Featuring Adam Sandler and Drew Berrymore. The 80's music kicks butt and the comedy is hilarious. The message of love hits hard in this movie as two star crossed lovers shake off bad relationships to find the one that truly is meant to be. If you lived through the eighties you will enjoy the movie just for all the funny references it make to that time frame. Adam Sandler drives home the music and the comedy while Drew Berrymore adds the cute and sexy parts to make this romantic comedy one of the best. The cameo by Billy Idol is really bad but if you loved the Rebel Yell King then it makes it okay.

Serendipity - Great Romantic Movie.

Today I would like to suggest a great romantic comedy for you to watch. Serendipity stars John Cusak (a favorite of mine) and Kate Beckinsale. It is a magical movie of how love finds it way even when you think it is lost. It showed me that you can't force love you have to let it follow it's path even though that path might be a long one. Plus there is a lot of comedy in the movie to give you a good chuckle or two. Purchase the movie below at amazon today and see how Serendipity can effect your love life.

Watch something funny today.

Laughter has always been marketed as the best medicine. Why not use this medicine in our relationship. Get something funny to watch tonight be it a movie or a television show, just make sure it is something that will get the two of you laughing hard. Laughing is a great stress reliever and a wonderful activity for you body. Sharing your laughter with each other is beneficial in that it strengthens the bond between the two of you. When we are laughing together we are having fun together, plus laughing is just plain sexy. Find something funny to watch tonight or go to a comedy club spend the night holding hands and laughing uncontrollably. It does the body and the relationship good.

Might I suggest some real slapstick type of comedy, think about the naked gun movies.

Cheese a romantic snack?

We don't usually think of Cheese as a romantic snack. However when you put a little bit of crackers and wine with it you change the whole image. Now cheese becomes a treat of the wealthy and higher class. Even though all of these items might be from you local discount store. Once you take them out of the package no one knows. Next time the two of you sit down to watch a movie, instead of cooking a bag of microwave popcorn make a small cheese tray and open up a bottle of wine. It might seem upper class while watching a rented movie but heck it is romantic!!!!!

Refresh the sheets.

Your bedroom is one of the most important places for romance to happen. So a good practice to get into is changing your sheets often. For starters it shows you care about your partner wanting them to sleep on clean sheets. Plus if you are having sex very often the sheets can get dirty pretty fast. Sleeping in the wet spot is bad enough but think about that spot drying up and staying in your sheets. Get yourself several different sets of sheets, different colors and different fabric types to set specific moods or to deal with the changing seasons. Flannel sheets are great for snuggling up in the colder winter months, while cotton sheets add an airy comfort in the summer time. Colors such as red and black help promote intimacy and silk and satin sheets can make you feel like you are in your own porn movie. You can change the whole dynamic of you bedroom just by changing the sheets. Buy sheets for special occasions and as gifts to make them even more special. Have Christmas sheets with christmas colors, you can also have anniversary sheets if you like. No matter what your taste a little more time between the sheets is never a bad thing in the case of romance.

How about a bite!

Currently with the vampire craze that Twilight has created, vampires are again high on the romantic chart. Not saying that you should be biting your partner, but if they are fascinated with the vampires then a little nibbling might turn them on. Light biting on the neck or ear lobes have always been a romantic turn on for a lot of people. Maybe even putting on a black cape would create a romantic mood in your bedroom. Get tickets to the new Twilight movie getting ready to come and the give them to your partner in a little coffin box. You can take this vampire fetish to new heights. Maybe a little research on the movie would give you more insight to things that your partner might find romantic about it. Although this vampire fascination might not be your cup of tea, don't let it deter using it to improve the romance in your life.

The Feet

We all know how romantic a foot rub can be and a massage on the feet can send people into an almost orgasmic state. This makes me wonder why we don't pay more attention to our partners feet during other times. We spend most of our waking hours standing on our feet and yet we don't give them the romance they need unless we are using it a means of foreplay. First things first, since we spend so much time on our feet make sure you partner or lover has great shoes. Nothing can make your feet hurt worse then cheap shoes that don't give you the cushion you need. After making sure their shoes are proper, get them off their feet as much as possible. If your partner spends all day on their feet at work don't expect them to spend the night walking around the mall. Find an activity where you can sit down and relax their feet. Rent a movie and prop up on the couch or catch the football game in the same manner. Purchase a nice scrub brush for the shower to brush both of your feet with. Nothing feels better then giving your feet the attention they deserve. By doing all these romantic things for your partners feet, then next time you get time to be more romantic you won't have to focus so much on their feet to start with.

Fathers Day and Romance.

Happy Fathers Day for all you fathers out there. I know we don't normally associate fathers day with romance. However, I feel there should be time for romance everyday. Tonight save the romance for later tonight and spend the day with your family. I know this is fathers day but the whole family needs to be involved. So go on a bike ride together, watch a family friendly movie, go out to dinner (Dad's Pick), take in a ballgame or just have a great big BBQ. Remember this is fathers day, so dads use and abuse that fact. No cooking for you, sit back and enjoy your day.

Make a Movie Theater at Home!

Today life is so fast-paced that we seldom have time to take our sweetie to the movies. Either the times don't work out right or we don't have the hundreds of dollars it will take to purchase a ticket and snacks - Last time I went it was under a hundred, but let’s just use that as a general feeling. Nowadays, you can rent a movie not long after it has been in the theaters, and we have recently been downloading them from iTunes. I believe Netflicks has the downloading available also. It doesn't take much for us to get a movie and watch it on our time. We can pause it or stop it when we have things that arise like bathroom breaks or putting kids to sleep. But, just because we can’t find the time to attend the show at the theater doesn't mean we have to lose the ambiance.

Next time you get a movie to watch at home take some time and set up your own little theater in the family room. Move the couch around to sit right in front of the television. Make a trip to the local discount store and pick up all the snacks you would get at your local movie theater. They are much cheaper this way, and you usually get more for your money. Microwave some popcorn. You can even get some of those super humongous cups to get the real movie theater feel. Turn off all the lights in the house, and presto you have your own movie theater. You can even watch the previews at the start of the disc if you want to get a more authentic feeling. iTunes even carries trailers of movies that are not out in theaters yet.

Most movies have ratings like PG-13 or R. You need to decide what your theater rating will be! If you’re doing this with your children, you can use a G rating. Use pretend money and make tickets. The kids can use it to “purchase” their snacks and tickets. This is a good way to make sure they don't over do it on the snacks. Only give them enough play money to purchase a set amount of candy. If you want your theater to have a PG-13 rating you could invite all your teenage children’s friends over for a showing. Just get some extra folding chairs and presto you can create a teenager’s dream - all of their friends at the movies together. The R rated theater is probably just for the two of you (just depends on what you allow you kids to watch). Since the kids are probably in bed and no one else is in the theater let the make out session begin. Heck, if you know you won't have any interruptions, you can even slip into the X rating.

Get choosy over Movies

Okay, so it's your turn to choose the movie for your date! So what it gonna be - the shoot ‘em up movie or the slap stick comedy? Before your Neanderthal mentality kicks in, and you pick the most macho movie you can find, think of where this can lead. Look at your relationship. Are you at the beginning of it or have you been married for 20 years? What are your plans after the movie? Are you going to dinner, out to a club, or are you hoping to venture back to your place for a more intimate setting? Take all of that into consideration. Get a newspaper or get on your computer and find out which movies are playing near you. Scan over the times of each movie and eliminate all the ones where the time just doesn't work out for your date.

Now comes the pondering part of the movie selection process. How do you want this movie to affect your date? I can see you now with that glazed look in your eyes thinking, "I just want to see a movie.” Okay, I will make it a little simpler for you. Let’s say you are going to dinner after the movie; you don't want to see a gory movie as it might ruin your appetite. The stupidly funny movie might lead to way too much laughter during the main course. In my opinion, the best movie to see before going to dinner is one that will strike up great conversation - a thriller or a movie with twists and turns in the plot. Let’s say you are headed out to the club for dancing and drinks. My choice of movie would be a great comedy. You know - the ones with stupid lines and the comedy is right in your face. This has double the impact as one it gets you ready for fun while dancing at the club. And a bonus is if you’re not a good dancer, you might be able to imitate the movie on the dance floor and get some chuckles from your date. You can also quote silly lines form the movies to each other. If you are drinking alcohol they get funnier and funnier. Now let’s say you want to head back home for some alone time after the movie. You have several choices - the first being the horror film. Your partner might jump into your arms and want to be held. However if you’re a little jumpy this might back fire on you. A romantic comedy might do you well as it will take the edge off the date and still promote kissing and other stuff. An adventure movie might do you well as it gets your blood pumping, and might lead to some role playing at the homestead.

So don't just choose the movie you want to see the most when going on a movie date. Take some time and think about the outcome - no not of the movie but, of the later activities. One more thing before I leave you, sometimes the best movie to see is one that no one else wants to see. “Why?” you might ask. Well, you just might have the whole theater to yourselves!!

Click on the title line to go to Fandango and pick your movie for tonight.
