Are You Prepared For Your Honeymoon?

Preparing for the Honeymoon: Honeymoon Fashion Tips

Expert Author Sherly A. Mendoza
Aside from the wedding ceremony itself, the honeymoon is one of the most awaited parts of a couple's new journey in life. Couples spend a lot of time and money just to make sure that they choose the perfect honeymoon location. For some, spending their first days together as husband and wife means honeymooning in their favorite island. For others, spending some nights in a posh hotel is enough. No matter where one chooses to honeymoon, though, one thing is almost always taken for granted: the wardrobe.
Even if honeymooning couples normally spend most of their time by themselves, looking good is still important. This is tantamount to feeling good and confident about one's self. If you are getting married soon and are in the middle of finalizing honeymoon plans, it will do you a lot of good to check out the fashion tips that follow.
Summer Honeymoon
- If comfort is more important than fashion for you, your honeymoon wardrobe should consist mostly of cottony outfits. This is especially true if your honeymoon falls in the middle of the summer season. Cotton is a very breathable material, so it is the most comfortable. You'll find a lot of fashionable clothes made of cotton. There are sleeveless summer dresses for the young bride; and cotton shirts for men. Choosing the right color is essential; go for light shades as dark colors tend to attract heat.
- A summer honeymoon means plenty of time in the beach. This means that you should prepare as many swimwear as you can. Bright colors are perfect for beach wear of any type: bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, men's swimming outfits, board shorts and even maxi dresses, colorful sarongs and cover ups. Bring more than one swimwear so that you won't have to wear the same one everyday. Part of your summer honeymoon fashion are your sunscreen lotions and lip balm.
Sleepwear
- Whether your honeymoon is in the summer season or not, bringing the right kind of sleepwear is important. Brides should go for lacy lingerie or nighties. And yes, the groom should go for funky boxers even if sleepwear is only for the bedroom. This does a lot in creating the right honeymoon ambiance.
- Cover up a little more when honeymooning in the winter season. But choose styles that are still fashionable.
Cold Weather Fashion
- If your first romantic outing as husband and wife takes place in the colder parts of the year, it is best to prepare a sweater, jacket or sweatshirt. Winter honeymooners, especially those who plan to spend their time in a ski resort, should bundle up in the right outfit, from the head gear down to their footwear. Look for coordinated outfits like winter jackets (preferably hooded), ear muffs, winter pants and boots. Of course, it is important to go for clothes that you feel most comfortable in; otherwise, you won't be able to move around too much.
Footwear
- For the summer season, it is best to prepare two sets of footwear: a pair of beach slippers and elegant sandals that you can use for fancy dinner dates. Men should go for slipper-sandals that they can wear on the beach, as well as simple dress shoes for romantic dinners. Go for boots for colder weather. And just in case the hotel or resort you are going to stay in does not have one, bring a pair of bedroom slippers.
Extra Stuff
- Lastly, it is up to you if you want to bring hats as these can be especially useful in protecting yourself from the sun. There are hats and hoodies that are perfect for the windy and wintry season.
The best thing to remember when preparing your honeymoon wardrobe up is comfort. No matter how fashionable or expensive your outfits are, if you are not comfortable with what you are wearing, you won't look good in it. Confidence is a big factor in looking and feeling good - whether you're honeymooning or just hanging out with your spouse.

Romantic Gondola Rides

Many Americans have dreamed about visiting Venice and taking a ride in its most iconic mode of transportation, the gondola. But a lot of us are too busy to drop everything and go abroad; fortunately, there are gondoliers in many stateside cities who specialize in bringing a little Venetian romance and relaxation into your life.
We were asked to share this article with you and we are pleased to do so, but we also wanted to share a couple of places that were not mentioned.  Here they are:

Lover to Lover - a Wedding Poem

Lover to Lover
I do not know why or how or from where I love you
My heart and my soul merge with yours

Our consciousness expands and shares
Abundant love with Mother Earth and the Universe
As we bare our souls and spread our wings

We come together and create this union, this oneness
We stand strong as equal parts
Yet, it is not understood where one ends and the other begins

My arms promise you a safe and sacred space
I open my heart to you trusting and loving

I take your hand and you take mine
I touch your soul and you touch mine

Together we traverse the journey called life

And, so it is.

Great Romantic Comedy - The Wedding Singer

One of the best movies to watch for a good snuggle up good time is The Wedding Singer. Featuring Adam Sandler and Drew Berrymore. The 80's music kicks butt and the comedy is hilarious. The message of love hits hard in this movie as two star crossed lovers shake off bad relationships to find the one that truly is meant to be. If you lived through the eighties you will enjoy the movie just for all the funny references it make to that time frame. Adam Sandler drives home the music and the comedy while Drew Berrymore adds the cute and sexy parts to make this romantic comedy one of the best. The cameo by Billy Idol is really bad but if you loved the Rebel Yell King then it makes it okay.

Attend a wedding.

One of the best things you can do to renew your love for each other is attend a wedding. We always try to make excuses not to go sit through the long ceremony, however it can be refreshing and meaningful for the two of you. Seeing two other people in love will remind you how much you love each other. Plus it's a great way to have a night out without a huge expense. You get to dress up with each other and made do some dancing. The big point however is to realize how important love is. We sometimes forget in our daily life how we felt when we were the one pledging our love to each other or how special we felt with each other in the early days of our relationship. A wedding is sometimes just what the doctor ordered for an ill relationship. Plus they have cake.

Video the two of you.

There is no time like the present to get started making a little video of the two of you for memories sake. Think about it how much you change in a year or 10 years or 20. Take a little video of the two of you each and every year on your anniversary and compile this video footage into a montage. Think about how wonderful it will be on your 50th wedding anniversary to see all the clips in order. Do something similar in each video weather you kiss, talk about things or do something silly. This will make a great memory for the two of you but for all the people who's lives you touch. As time goes by you will be glad you did this, it is a wonderful way to remember how we were.
