Carve your initials in a tree.

Remember long ago when you about 13 and you felt like you were in love with someone. At 13 you didn't have a lot of ways to express your love. If you were like most 13 year old kids then you probably expressed your love in doodling. Writing you new loves name over and over on your tablet your books, only to have to mark them out later when that love ended. Now that you are older and your relationship is a little more stable it is time to move up. This post is even better if you are stable enough to have your own home together. Find a special tree in your yard or on a path somewhere and carve your initials into that tree. Yes I know it is not good for the tree but in the grand scheme of things it isn't as bad as other things. This carving will stand as an expression of your love for each other. Now every time you walk by that tree or down that path you will remember each other. Make it a point to remember it years later and make a pilgrimage to enjoy it time and time again even after you move out of the area. If for some reason your tree gets removed then as soon as you find out replace your love signature on another tree. Love is our nature so why not express it in our nature.

Lights of Love

During the holidays we make everything we can a little more festive. Well one thing I think adds a lot of festivity to your Christmas tree is to use only candle light to light the room your tree is in. Yes you will have the lights on the tree but the soft flickering light of the candles will add a special touch to the room. Not only will it direct more attention to your tree but it will also make you more aware of each other. The normal bright lights we use make us think more of work and shopping then of the soft and wonderful feels of the holiday. When you have a day when the two of you can just snuggle down replace all your lighting with candles and see what happens. I am sure it will be a little more romantic.

Watching the tree lights.

You know how the flicker of the fire sets a great mood for romance. Well at this time of year your Christmas tree lights can do the same thing. Turn all the lights down in the room with your tree in it and then find a cozy chair to snuggle down in. Don't let talking get in the way of enjoying the lights, just relax for a bit and take in the magic season of lights. Once you feel relaxed then you can start talking about things like presents you need to buy or what you want to do this holiday season. However, don't think to much the object here is to relax and enjoy the wonderful christmas tree the two of you have put up.
