Does Love Really Stink?

Well, geesh, Granny!
Did life make you angry or break you heart?
Granny sure seems to think love stinks.

You love her
But she loves him

And he loves somebody else
You just can't win

And so it goes
Till the day you die

This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry

I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks

One thing for sure

Love Stinks!
-J.Geils Band

What do you think?  Does love stink?  Or is it amazing?

Great love ballads.

Have you ever watch a cheesy romantic comedy and listened to the soundtrack? If you have you have heard several of the great love ballads. Groups such as Journey, Boston, Chicago, etc made a lot of money singing these songs for young lovers. So why not use them to help boost your love life. Make a playlist of these songs to play in the background of your house during times that lag. In essence you are making your life into a romantic comedy.

Check out this clip from the Band Exile and see if you can remember the song from the movie Happy Gilmore. Maybe you can do a better job of singing then Adam Sandler did in the movie.

Tonights distractions go out the window!

Tonight is a night that you need to put all focus on your relationship. Express this feeling to your partner. Make an agreement that tonight whatever you are going to do will have no distractions. Forget the cell phones, no television, no sports, no computer and no interruptions. This is a night that is quietly set aside for the two of you. Have you ever been to dinner when you partners phone rings and they talk for a few minutes, if you like me you feel a little shorted on your time together. I don't care if you are newly dating or have been married for several years. You still owe your partner respect while you are focusing on your relationship. You can leave numbers to the places you will be attending in case of emergency's, but other then that your undivided attention should be focused on each other. Don't sit at the restaurant and watch sports on the television either, I have a bad habit of doing this one. Football season is the worst for me, but I try to sit myself facing away from any television so I am not tempted.

Another point to make on this distractions point is don't go to place that doesn't allow you the noise level to chat. Forget the new club with it's loud music, or the professional basketball game or any place you cannot talk to each other easily. Quite places such as parks, museums, or beaches are great for walking and talking. Don't forget to hold hands also. Remember this is to be a date and all distractions need to be thrown out the window. Well don't literally throw them out the window, cell phones are expensive.

Find a small place with live Music

There is something romantic about sitting in a small place with a single performer playing. It screams romance. The beauty of the situation is that you have some great background music and you can still have a in depth conversation. This is great for a first date also as it gives you a starting point of conversation as you discuss the music the artists is playing. The atmosphere at someplace like this is usually relaxed and allows you to feel more comfortable. Some of these artists might even take request from the audience.

Do a little research into the kind of music that will be played, you can ask someone that works at the venue they will usually have a good idea. Also find a place that has some character and has been in business a while, that way you know what you will be getting. Newer places are still trying to find their market so they might have different types of performers each night. When all else fails look for a place that plays the blues.

Okay you have the formula, now go out and find your little hole in the wall. Soon you will be staring into each others eyes while someone strums on a beat up guitar. Sipping drinks and having good conversation what more can you ask for?

Throw a Luau together.

Not everyone can go to Hawaii, but if you or your partner haven't been, you can bring Hawaii to your house in the form of a luau. You can get some island type of food to cook on the grill. Pick up some tiki torches at the local discount store. Figure out what type of island drinks you want and either pick up some real pineapples or coconuts and cut open to use as cups. Get totally into the luau find grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts and get some drum music to play in the back ground. Invite you friends and and tell them to bring things to complement your luau. Do a limbo, get a baby pool to soak your feet in and everyone pretend you are on the islands. Find some trivia about Hawaii to play with the guests. Make sure to have Laius to place on everyone and enjoy the night. Make sure you and your partner get to have a special dance during the luau and maybe you'll both get laid once the luau is over.

Grilling Out!

It is getting close to being a great time to grill outside. Many people find firing up the grill a important part of summer. Here is how we are going to make it romantic. Pick out your partners favorite dish, be it chicken, steak, or seafood. Now start searching the Internet for different recipes for this dish. Pick something easy but that looks really hard to make. Big Oven is a great source or recipes for the beginning chef or the advanced. Next head down to the liquor store and pick up a nice bottle of wine, Sangria during the summer is exspecially tasty. Finally let your partner sit back and enjoy the sun as you prepare the meal for them. Pour them a glass of your beverage and make sure to check on them from time to time as you cook. Turn on some music to set a great mood and if you have some special friends invite them over. Either the men or women can take turns planning and preparing the meal, you could even make it a ritual like every other Sunday during the summer. After the meal is cooked and done make sure you get a little time to relax and enjoy the day also.
