One of the hardest things you have to do when entering a new relationship is to stay focused. It is so hard to start thinking as a couple instead of an individual. You have to start thinking about calling before you go places or seeing if your partner would like to go. Grocery shopping becomes a whole different beast when you become a couple. Two people can live cheaper then one but only if they like all the same things. If you go shopping alone you can bet you will forget something you partner wants. This is where you need to stay focused. Make lists of your partners likes and dislikes until you memorize them. This goes for everything not just shopping. Another hard area to get together on is the decorating of your house or apartment. You might have had sports memorabilia up in the living room when you were not part of a couple. However your new partner might have had lots of flowers in their living room. What do you do sports memorabilia and flowers don't go together real well. Here is where we get to that magic word, Compromise. Met somewhere in the middle and make sure the items appeal to both partners. Staying focused in a relationship is tough especially if you are new at it.
