Play Date For Couples

Organize a Playdate with other Couples
It sounds racier than it actually is...we're talking about a good ol' fashioned game night. You remember when you were kids you would break out the board games, the snacks, the soda and spend a cloudy/rainy/snowy day inside laughing and playing silly board games with your friends. We may be bigger now, but their is still much fun to be had playing board games.
Whether it's financial, kids or you just plain don't want to get dressed up to go out, game night is your at-home answer for staying social without breaking the bank.
Here are some tips from us to you on throwing a successful and fun game night without going overboard:
1. The Gamers. Keep the get-together small. Invite only a few other couples otherwise it will be more difficult getting everyone to pay attention to the board game rules. If you just can't keep it to a few, organize the game night in groups so there are 3-4 people per group each playing a different game.
2. Feast. Serve easy to grab, bite-sized appetizers such as caprese skewers, olive & sundried tomato hummus tapenade on pita chips, and pizza bites. You can order a whole pizza, ask them to not slice it, then you cut it into the size of pieces you want, and add a little extra topping of perhaps spicy chutney to give it that little extra something. Also, ask everyone to bring an appetizer so you only have to make a few items yourself.
3. Sip. Provide a small variety to drink. We don't want you to break the bank, but we do want you to be a good host. Provide a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine and a pitcher of a signature cocktail you've created picked special for your party (we like the Voodoo Tattoo cocktail). While you don't have to go all out providing every type of soft drink or non-alcoholic beverage, we like to offer both sparkling and flat water along with lemons, limes and an ice bucket.
4. Decor. This really depends on how fancy you want to get. We think the very idea of game night is a nice casual night spent with friends. However, that doesn't mean you don't want to have a little ambiance. Obviously, you're going to want to go with the game theme. Perhaps, instead of using a plain piece of paper to keep score, create cute score cards with everyone's name that match the game(s) you will be playing and let everyone have a chance to keep score. If you're playing a game like Pictionary, you could pre-draw some funny pictures that relate to your guests and hang them around the house.
5. The Games. Find games that aren't too complicated and be sure to let your guests know in advance what games they might be playing. It's okay to have a few options and let the majority choose the night of the game. Most people don't want to spend too much time learning rules, so the simpler the rules the better. Some games even have a 'get to the game' section of rules that are a shortened/modified version of the game. Old standards like Monopoly, Pictionary and even Cranium are good choices for these very reasons. Also, games that get people involved and talking or just being silly really are what make game night fun. If the gamers have to be quiet and think for too long, things can get stale.
*Bonus Tip* Music. Most games do have moments of silence. During those times, it's best to have some music to keep your gamers upbeat and in the gaming mood. We're not talking Metallica here (not that there's anything wrong with that), but music that makes your toes tap or your head bob while trying to think up a definition for "Cachinnator" during a game of Balderdash. Yes, that is a real word.

Sangria Recipes For Summer

Summer has arrived which means the barbecue season is about to begin depending on where you live. Where I come from, we don't really care how cold it gets just as long as the propane tank is full. It could be -30 Celsius and we'd still be grilling steaks. But I digress. I want to share a couple recipes with you, which will make spending time on the patio, deck or backyard with friends more enjoyable.
Rather than going for the bottle of beer, why not try cold drinks that can be made out of wine. The wine you use for these recipes doesn't have to be expensive either. For example you could find a decent red Zinfandel or a Pinot Noir at a very decent price.
1 Bottle of red wine (Zinfandel or Pinot Noir)
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Shot brandy
2 Cups club soda
Pour it all into a pitcher except for the club soda. Squeeze the juice from the lemon and orange wedges into the pitcher. Try to leave the seeds out but toss the wedges in. Chill overnight. Add club soda just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. This recipe is good for four (4) people. My quick, one-or-two-person version of this recipe would be as follows.
In a tall glass with ice pour 4 ounces of red wine and top it up with ginger ale. Add a fruit wedge if you like. That is it!
Here's a white wine version.
1 Bottle of your favorite white wine
1 Lime cut into wedges
1 Peach cut into wedges
1 Cup sliced strawberries
1/2 Cup lemonade or limeade
1/2 Cup Sugar
2 shots of apricot, peach or "berry" flavored brandy
2 Cups club soda
Optional: one can of diced pineapple pieces with juice
And please, please don't go buy a Chateau-Neuf-Du-Pape or a Chateau-Grand-Puy-Lacoste to mix in a sangria. Have that for a nice romantic dinner instead. ;)

Bringing The Romantic Fireworks

When fireworks in your personal life are what you need, consider having a romantic Fourth of July. The process can be very simple, and planning ahead will make it a day to remember.
One great idea is having a picnic. But not among the masses of people gathering to watch the fireworks, instead head to the woods and sit down by a river or stream. Make a caviar sampler with red, white and blue caviar and share them together. Match it with a bottle of red wine and watch as the stream rolls along and talk about the warm weather.
During this time, share with your love what dazzles you most about her. This is the perfect time to recite a poem you have written, or if you are not a poet try the poetry of another person. She will be impressed just by the fact you are dedicated enough to give it a try.
As the afternoon rolls around, get lost together. Hike deep into the woods, and let her think you are getting lost. Then just when you are about to give up, head to an opening that will give you a perfect view of the fireworks that will be exploding later that night. While you are waiting for the sun to go down, massage her shoulders and kiss her softly. Point out where the fireworks will rise from, and hold her hand as you point. It will be a form of connection.
When the show begins that night, pull her in close. Do not be afraid to show your childhood amazement for the bursting lights. When you see an awesome display tell her that you liked it as well. Then kiss her passionately and head back to the car. The rest of the romance is left up to your mind.
Other things you can consider doing include:
• Go to the county fair or local picnic and try new foods
• Enter a pie eating contest
• Take a day drive to a new city or town and see their fireworks display
• Stay indoors and curl up on the couch while you watch fireworks on the television
• Grab a pair of sparklers, and write your names together in the darkness
• Point out all the red fireworks and kiss each other when they go off. If they look like a heart, kiss twice.

Know Your Way Around Women's Panties

Whenever you are shopping for underwear, it would be nice to actually have a specific style in mind so you don't end up buying the same style over and over again. And yes, people have the tendency to buy the same style because it is safe and they already know how it looks like. But you don't have to stick with the same choices. You will actually have more fun trying out different types of panties and see what works for you. So here are the basic types of panties you should know.
1. Briefs - it fully covers the rear and rises up to the waste or maybe just below the navel. Now looking at its sides comes some variations.
  • Classic cut - has the sides covered and extends below the hips. You will mostly see these with girls under puberty because it's conservative and simple enough.
  • French cut - also called high-cut brief because the side exposes more of the hips. It's a bit sexier than the other briefs because it shows more skin.
  • Boyleg briefs - also called boyshorts are styled after men's briefs, it looks straight across the top and below covering the hips in full, and it has extra fabric inside the inner thighs.
  • Control briefs - this one extends above the waist to offer support and give a slim appearance. Because of the nature of this type of panty, a stretchable type of fabric is needed, such as spandex, to make one of these.
2. Hipsters - are much more like briefs but waistbands are worn lower around the hips. It's called "hipster" because it hugs the hips.
3. Bikinis - are also worn at the hips but the fabrics at the sides are narrower. The rear coverage is much less compared to briefs. String bikinis are a special type of bikini where the sides are held together with strings instead of fabrics.
4. Tangas - give full rear coverage but the waistband is reduced to a narrow strip at the sides.
5. Thongs - the waistband is similar to tangas but rear coverage is not full. This is actually popular because it exposes the most in all the panty types. There are also other variations of this type.
  • G String - this is the most common among all the variations. It has an inverted triangle-shaped strip of fabric in varying width that is connected with strings to the side and narrows in-between buttocks.
  • V String - this is similar to the shape of G string except that the inverted triangle-shaped strip of fabric is replaced with two strings that separate from the bottom instead.
  • T-Back - is easier to recognize because it is all strings at the back fully exposing the rear.
  • C String - this one eliminates the waistband forming a "C" shape with a special frame that holds its shape. Useful for eliminating panty lines when wearing a silk dresses or tan lines when you are at the beach.
  • Cheeky - covers more area and is considered the most conservative of all the thong variations. The bottom fabric is still narrow and goes between the buttocks but the sides are covered with wider fabric which continues to the front.
This list has only the basic types of panties. But from it you will recognize different variations done by designers sometimes mixing the styles but it generally falls under one of the categories listed above.
I hope this list has been helpful for you so that the next time you go shopping for panties, you would always find words to describe what particular style you are looking for.
