About the Author
Aria Emend was born in the Cape Verde Islands and traveled to the US when she was eight. She’s been living in Massachusetts for the last forty-two years. She is a wife, a mother of three, and a grandmother.
Aria loves her Cape Verdean roots and cherishes her family values that are rich in traditions. She shares these traditions with her own family and hopes to empower her children in doing the same with theirs.
She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a Master’s in Education from Cambridge College, Boston. Aria has been a Registered nurse for the past twenty-seven years and has been working as a school nurse in an urban district for the past twenty-four years. She loves working with middle school children and is living her true calling.
Aria has always had a passion for reading romance novels and never thought that she’d one day write her own. She hopes that her story will resonate with others who have dealt with forbidden love and those whose love was hindered by societal norms and cultural boundaries.
