“What then is time? If no one asks me, I know: if I wish to explain it to one that asketh, I know not.” ~ St. Augustine of Hippo.
How would a modern woman cope if she were accidentally transported into the early 1900s, a time without modern conveniences, when women didn't even have the right to vote? And how would the Victorian era handle an intelligent, educated, assertive woman from the future?
Leanne Hermes, the wife of an eccentric billionaire scientist, was accidentally transported 99 years into the past by a device her husband made to capture the energy of the female orgasm.
Her distraught husband thought the worst, that his device had disintegrated his wife, until he came across journals his great-grandfather had explicitly saved for him. But that was only the tip of the iceberg. What he learns about his family tree and his family's company in his desperate quest to return Leanne shocks him to his core.

How Couples Can Use Feng Shui to Improve Their Relationship and the Energy of Their Home
How Couples Can Use Feng Shui to Improve Their Relationship and the Energy of Their Home
You’ve rearranged the couch a dozen times, bought the fancy scented candles, and even have matching throw pillows—yet something still feels “off” in your home. Maybe it’s not about what you have, but how it’s arranged.
Enter Feng Shui: the ancient Chinese art of energy flow that can do more than just spruce up your space—it can also breathe fresh life into your relationship. Whether you’re in a brand-new love nest or have been sharing a home (and toothpaste) for years, Feng Shui can help you create a space that supports harmony, connection, and just the right amount of sexy vibes.
Here’s how couples can use Feng Shui to improve their relationship and the overall energy of their home—without needing a degree in interior design or a truckload of crystals (though those can be fun too).
1. Clear the Clutter = Clear the Conflict
We know. Nobody likes to be told to clean up. But in Feng Shui, clutter equals blocked energy, and that stuck energy can create tension, misunderstandings, and general "Why am I so grumpy?" feelings.
Start with the bedroom (because that’s where the magic happens, right?).
Clear out under the bed—yes, even the suitcase from 2019.
Remove things that don’t serve your relationship (we’re looking at you, ex memorabilia).
Keep only what feels calming, romantic, and relevant to you two.
🧹 Feng Shui mantra: Less mess = less stress = more loving energy.
2. Balance the Bedroom
Your bedroom should be your love sanctuary, not an extension of your office or gym. Feng Shui promotes balance and symmetry—think “couple energy” in everything.
✨ Try this:
Use matching nightstands and lamps on each side of the bed to represent equality and balance.
Place your bed in the “command position”—facing the door but not directly in line with it.
Avoid mirrors facing the bed (unless you're into that, no judgment—but Feng Shui says it can invite a third party... ghosting the romance, literally).
And no TVs, please. Netflix and chill? Great. But actual sleep and connection? Better.
3. Use the Power of the “Relationship Corner”
In Feng Shui, each space has energy zones based on the Bagua Map. The back right corner of your home (from the front entrance) is your Relationship Corner.
💞 Boost the love vibes with:
Pairs of objects (candles, figurines, artwork of couples)
Pink, red, or white décor (romantic, passionate, and pure love energy)
A symbolic item that represents your relationship—like a framed photo or love note
Keep this space tidy, intentional, and sacred to your relationship. No dirty laundry piles here, folks.
4. Don’t Sleep With Your Work (Literally)
Feng Shui teaches that energy lingers, so having your laptop, work papers, or home office in your bedroom brings “productive” or “stressful” energy into a space meant for relaxation and intimacy.
If you have to work from your bedroom, create a separate zone with a visual divider or cover your workspace at night.
💻 Think of it like this: Your bedroom should whisper sweet nothings, not scream “Q3 earnings report.”
5. Let the Chi Flow Freely
Chi (energy) should move easily through your home—just like good communication in your relationship.
Check for blocked areas:
Can you walk through your space without bumping into furniture?
Are doorways, hallways, and windows clear and open?
Is the air fresh and the lighting soft and warm?
🌀 Use open space and natural light to invite calm, loving vibes into your home—and your relationship.
6. Decorate With Intention
Your home should reflect who you are as a couple, not just one person’s taste or old hand-me-downs from college. Choose décor, art, and colors that feel mutual, supportive, and inspiring.
💡 Some Feng Shui favorites for couples:
Art that shows love, partnership, or nature
Soft, cozy textiles and gentle lighting
A couple’s vision board or shared goals displayed intentionally
It’s not about making it Instagram-perfect. It’s about creating a soulful, shared space that supports your journey together.
7. Embrace Elemental Balance
Feng Shui is built on five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—and too much (or too little) of one can throw your energy off.
🌿 Balance ideas:
Add wood with plants or wooden frames for growth
Use fire (candles, red tones) for passion
Incorporate earth (clay pots, stones) for grounding
Include metal (sculptures, mirrors) for clarity
Use water (fountains, artwork with water) for emotional flow
Don’t overdo it—this isn’t a game of Pokémon. You just need a little of each to harmonize your home and heart.
Feng Shui is a Love Language
At the end of the day, Feng Shui isn’t just about moving furniture or picking the right paint color—it’s about intentionally designing a space that nurtures your connection.
It’s about making your home a reflection of your partnership: supportive, balanced, open, and filled with love.
So light that candle, fluff those pillows, and let your space support your story. Your relationship deserves good chi—and maybe a little romance along the way. 🛏️💞

Relationship Tips for Couples Who Work Together (Without Driving Each Other Crazy)
Relationship Tips for Couples Who Work Together (Without Driving Each Other Crazy)
They say don’t mix business with pleasure—but clearly, “they” have never worked with their significant other and actually enjoyed it. Whether you’re running a business together, working on a creative project, or just sharing the same remote work space, working with your partner can be a beautiful blend of teamwork, trust, and togetherness—or a recipe for disaster if you’re not careful.
Luckily, with a little awareness and a lot of humor, you can thrive both professionally and personally without losing your minds (or throwing office supplies at each other).
Let’s dive into some real-life relationship tips for couples who work together—and still want to cuddle at the end of the day.
1. Define Your Roles (And Respect Them)
In a healthy work relationship, just like in a romantic one, clarity is kindness. Make sure each of you knows what your role is in the business or project, and avoid stepping on each other's toes—unless it’s a playful toe-tap under the desk.
Think of it like dancing: one of you leads, the other follows—unless you’re both doing interpretive jazz hands, in which case, good luck.
🗂️ Pro tip: Write down who’s in charge of what and check in every so often to make sure it still feels fair.
2. Communication is Everything (But Not Every Minute)
Working together doesn’t mean talking 24/7. In fact, over-communicating can be just as stressful as not saying enough.
Set clear times to talk business and clear times to switch it off. Not every dinner should turn into a board meeting, and not every board meeting should turn into a debate about who left socks in the laundry.
🗣️ Pro tip: Use a shared digital calendar or app to track tasks and limit constant check-ins. Love doesn’t require micromanagement.
3. Keep the Romance Alive (No, Really)
When you're working together, it's easy for your partner to start feeling more like a coworker than a soulmate. But don’t forget: this is the person you also binge-watch Netflix with, dream with, and kiss goodnight.
Make time for non-work-related affection. Surprise each other with coffee. Slip a little love note on their laptop. Compliment their work and their butt.
💘 Pro tip: Create “no work talk” zones like your bedroom, the car, or date night dinner. Boundaries are sexy.
4. Respect Alone Time (Even If You’re in the Same Room)
Just because you’re together doesn’t mean you need to be together all day, every day. Sometimes you need to put in headphones, close your laptop, or simply take a walk solo to keep your sanity intact.
And if one of you is an early bird and the other’s a night owl? Celebrate your opposite schedules—it’s built-in personal time!
🧘 Pro tip: Schedule solo time during the week. It keeps the relationship fresh and helps you recharge your individual batteries.
5. Don’t Compete—Collaborate
You’re a team, not rival startups. Celebrate each other’s wins instead of turning everything into a quiet (or not-so-quiet) contest.
If one of you excels at something, lean into it and cheer them on. And if the other needs support, offer help—not criticism or unsolicited advice (unless it’s about better snacks in the breakroom).
🤝 Pro tip: Say things like “How can I support you on this?” instead of “You should’ve done it this way.”
6. Laugh—A Lot
Things will go wrong. Emails will be missed. Zoom meetings will freeze on unflattering facial expressions.
The secret weapon for couples who work together? A sense of humor. Laugh at the chaos, embrace the imperfections, and don’t take yourselves too seriously.
😂 Pro tip: Have a “panic dance” or silly phrase you use when things get stressful. Bonus points if it involves jazz hands.
7. Know When to Clock Out
Just because you can work all day and night doesn’t mean you should. Set office hours and stick to them. Clocking out means your relationship gets the spotlight, not the to-do list.
📅 Pro tip: Create an end-of-day ritual—like a walk, a toast, or turning off notifications—to signal, “we're done working, time to be us again.”
Build the Dream, But Protect the Team
Working with your partner can be deeply fulfilling—it allows you to grow together, dream together, and build something truly special. But it takes intention, balance, and a whole lot of communication (and coffee).
So if you’re sharing a business and a bed, give yourselves some grace. Celebrate the wins. Learn from the bumps. And above all, remember why you chose each other in the first place.
Now go be the power couple you were always meant to be—and don’t forget to high-five in the hallway like the legends you are. 💼💑

The Way of Metamorphosis
Progress has not followed a straight ascending line, but a spiral with rhythms of progress and retrogression, of evolution and dissolution.
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (b.1749),
German polymath
The Way of Metamorphosis is a trilogy that explores why life passes so quickly. The answer to this question reveals the causes of loneliness and speaks to the premise of the series:
How we spend our time reflects what we value in this life, and what we value dictates the pace of life. This, aside from tragic events, influences whether a person will be happy.
Some of the guiding questions explored in the trilogy are:
Why do relationships remain dysfunctional despite humanity’s progress?
What is the connection between time and feeling overwhelmed?
Why is a successful life not necessarily a happy life?
What does human metamorphosis look like?
How is hubris related to loneliness?
Can the pace of life be slowed?
By examining the collective wisdom, past and present, the trilogy seeks to answer these questions. It draws inspiration from an ancient practice known as metamorphosis—a practice that frees one from spiritual clutter and quiets background noise.
This creates space for serenity, nurtures love, and fosters genuine friendships. But this is only possible when a meaningful life is independent of identity, success, past mistakes, or future ambitions.
The collective wisdom teaches that the journey of metamorphosis is as beautiful as it is challenging. Although it is a path of tranquility, it can feel pointless without a guiding light. This is acutely felt when despair and loneliness seem more real than love, especially during times of depression, rejection, injustice, loss, or anxiety.
For this reason, the collective wisdom values fortitude when life is spinning out of control. It takes courage, inspiration, resilience, and a healthy community to thrive. As the Stoic philosopher Seneca once wrote, “Sometimes it is an act of courage just to live.”
At birth, each person is given approximately 1,000 months to live. Around the 300-month mark—mid-twenties—humans start dying as their physical bodies decline. Anyone who lives long enough will witness their face transform until it becomes unrecognizable.
Life is terminal because everything has a time limit.
However, what is not declining or dying is the spirit—the part of you that continues to learn, expand, and mature.
It is the part of you that grows in wisdom. The part that can be more compassionate, a better listener, and more empathic. It is the part of you that longs for love and has the ability to heal from brokenness, loneliness, disappointment, and malaise. It is the part of you that is meant to metamorphosize.
These are some of the themes explored throughout the trilogy.
What, if not transformation,
is your deepest purpose?
~ Rainer Maria Rilke (b.1875),
Austrian poet and novelist
from The Ninth Duino Elegy
Parts I–III are written in the style of a Socratic dialogue, which embodies the spirit of a much larger work titled The Book of Time — A Compendium to The Way of Metamorphosis.
Part I is free to download or read online.

The Way of Metamorphosis is the creation of the philosopher Xavier Victor Montague.

How Couples Can Use Their Echo Dot to Improve Their Relationship (Yes, Alexa Can Be Your Wingwoman)
How Couples Can Use Their Echo Dot to Improve Their Relationship (Yes, Alexa Can Be Your Wingwoman)
Who knew that the little hockey puck on your nightstand could do more than just tell you the weather or play whale sounds at bedtime? That’s right—we’re talking about your Echo Dot, also known as Alexa, also known as the third wheel you didn’t know your relationship needed.
But instead of seeing her as just a helpful AI with a soothing voice, why not make her your relationship sidekick? From romantic playlists to dinner date reminders, Alexa is ready to serve up more love, less stress, and way more fun in your daily couple life.
Let’s break down how your Echo Dot can go from digital assistant to romance-enhancing MVP.
1. Schedule Sexy Time (Yes, Really)
Life gets busy. Between work, kids, dishes, and trying to remember where you put your actual socks, romance can fall off the to-do list. That’s where Alexa steps in like a digital Cupid with a calendar.
🗓️ “Alexa, remind us to have a date night Friday at 7 PM.”
🛏️ “Alexa, schedule private time after the kids’ bedtime.” (wink wink)
She doesn’t judge. She just makes sure your “together time” happens. And hey, there’s nothing sexier than mutual calendar consent.
2. Set the Mood Like a Pro
Gone are the days of fumbling through playlists trying to find the perfect mood music. Alexa’s already ahead of you.
💡 “Alexa, dim the lights.”
🎵 “Alexa, play romantic jazz.”
🕯️ “Alexa, start the ‘Love Vibes’ routine.”
Yes, you can actually create a routine called “Love Vibes.” It can adjust the lighting, play your favorite couple song, and even warm up your smart thermostat (because who wants chilly toes during a cuddle session?).
3. Cook Together Without the Chaos
Want to impress your partner with your cooking skills or try a new dish together? Let Alexa take the pressure off.
🧑🍳 “Alexa, find a recipe for chicken marsala.”
🕐 “Alexa, set a 12-minute timer for the pasta.”
🎶 “Alexa, play our cooking playlist.”
Cooking together becomes less of a “who burned the garlic” argument and more of a flirty team-building activity. Bonus points if you end up dancing in the kitchen with flour on your faces.
4. Play Games & Quizzes Together
Echo Dots are loaded with fun, couple-friendly games that can help you learn more about each other, get a little silly, and spark great conversations.
🎲 “Alexa, open Couple’s Quiz.”
💞 “Alexa, start Love Language Game.”
🤣 “Alexa, play Truth or Dare.”
It’s like date night, but without having to leave your couch or put on real pants.
5. Stay in Sync with Shared Lists
Alexa helps eliminate the age-old couples' feud: “Who was supposed to buy the toilet paper?”
📝 “Alexa, add chocolate and wine to our grocery list.”
🧹 “Alexa, remind us to clean the guest room Sunday.”
Shared lists, reminders, and calendar events make it easier to stay organized—and less likely to passive-aggressively remind each other of forgotten chores. Peace restored.
6. Wake Up and Wind Down, Together
Sync your schedules and routines to make mornings smoother and evenings more intentional.
☀️ “Alexa, wake us up with soft music and the weather.”
🌙 “Alexa, play bedtime meditation.”
🧘 “Alexa, start the evening wind-down routine.”
It’s like having a personal assistant, spiritual coach, and romantic timekeeper all rolled into one.
7. Celebrate the Small Stuff
Alexa doesn’t just do the heavy lifting—she can help you celebrate the little moments that matter, too.
🎉 “Alexa, remind us of our monthly anniversary.”
📅 “Alexa, what's a fun idea for date night tonight?”
💌 “Alexa, tell us a love quote.”
Use her to mark the milestones, remember the magic, and keep the good vibes going—because sometimes you do need a robot to say, “Don’t forget it’s the day you had your first pizza together.”
Final Thoughts: Alexa, the Unexpected Relationship Coach
Is Alexa going to replace therapy, candlelit dinners, or deep emotional conversations? No. But she can absolutely enhance your relationship, reduce friction, and add some spontaneous fun into your everyday life.
From managing chaos to setting the mood, your Echo Dot is the modern couple’s unsung hero. So next time you glance over at that little glowing orb, don’t just think “weather and reminders.” Think love, laughter, and playlists that make you kiss in the kitchen.
💬 Go ahead, say it with us:
“Alexa, help us fall in love—again.” 💕
