Meditation On the Toilet?

Check out this book called Toilet Yoga and maybe you can add this in too.

Okay we all know that meditation is good for us.  Many of us however complain that we don't have time to sit in silence long enough to meditate.  You complain about the kids interrupting or your spouse asking you questions, etc.   This got me thinking the other day.  The one place that most people can have a few minutes to themselves is usually in the bathroom.  So, why not start meditating in the bathroom.  You could do it while you are taking care of business or you could fake having to go to the bathroom so you can find that time to meditate.  Sounds like a good idea to me.  Don't flush this away until you try it, the powers that be do not judge where you meditate.

Domestic Violence Sucks

Domestic violence is a disturbing and sadding topic.  Most people don’t know why it happens or how to approach it.  One wonders why someone could treat another in such a horrific way or even why someone would stay with a partner that treats them that way.
The 5 star rated book Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse by Kelina Cowell, explains in detail the statistics, causes and effects of domestic abuse and the impact that it has on it's victims.
The sad fact is that anyone can become a victim of domestic abuse.  Each of us has been touched by it in some way, whether we know of someone or have been a victim ourselves.  It comes in many different forms.  Psychological, physical, sexual, financial, emotional, and these are only naming a few. The aim is to gain power and control and the impact is devastating.
As listed within these powerful pages some victims will experience poor general health, mental heath issues, feelings of worthlessness, helplessness, self-loathing or apathy.  This makes the road to freedom extremely challenging and to many seem impossible.
The statistics are breathtaking.  1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.  Now think about how many of those victims don’t report the abuse and live in fear and pain for years. How many children are witnesses to this?  It’s heartbreaking.
Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse is eye opening.  It is full of facts, history, and helps the reader understand the reasoning and how to break the cycle.
If you know someone who is in an abusive relationship this book will give you the knowledge to help them break free.

Are You Prepared For Your Honeymoon?

Preparing for the Honeymoon: Honeymoon Fashion Tips

Expert Author Sherly A. Mendoza
Aside from the wedding ceremony itself, the honeymoon is one of the most awaited parts of a couple's new journey in life. Couples spend a lot of time and money just to make sure that they choose the perfect honeymoon location. For some, spending their first days together as husband and wife means honeymooning in their favorite island. For others, spending some nights in a posh hotel is enough. No matter where one chooses to honeymoon, though, one thing is almost always taken for granted: the wardrobe.
Even if honeymooning couples normally spend most of their time by themselves, looking good is still important. This is tantamount to feeling good and confident about one's self. If you are getting married soon and are in the middle of finalizing honeymoon plans, it will do you a lot of good to check out the fashion tips that follow.
Summer Honeymoon
- If comfort is more important than fashion for you, your honeymoon wardrobe should consist mostly of cottony outfits. This is especially true if your honeymoon falls in the middle of the summer season. Cotton is a very breathable material, so it is the most comfortable. You'll find a lot of fashionable clothes made of cotton. There are sleeveless summer dresses for the young bride; and cotton shirts for men. Choosing the right color is essential; go for light shades as dark colors tend to attract heat.
- A summer honeymoon means plenty of time in the beach. This means that you should prepare as many swimwear as you can. Bright colors are perfect for beach wear of any type: bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, men's swimming outfits, board shorts and even maxi dresses, colorful sarongs and cover ups. Bring more than one swimwear so that you won't have to wear the same one everyday. Part of your summer honeymoon fashion are your sunscreen lotions and lip balm.
Sleepwear
- Whether your honeymoon is in the summer season or not, bringing the right kind of sleepwear is important. Brides should go for lacy lingerie or nighties. And yes, the groom should go for funky boxers even if sleepwear is only for the bedroom. This does a lot in creating the right honeymoon ambiance.
- Cover up a little more when honeymooning in the winter season. But choose styles that are still fashionable.
Cold Weather Fashion
- If your first romantic outing as husband and wife takes place in the colder parts of the year, it is best to prepare a sweater, jacket or sweatshirt. Winter honeymooners, especially those who plan to spend their time in a ski resort, should bundle up in the right outfit, from the head gear down to their footwear. Look for coordinated outfits like winter jackets (preferably hooded), ear muffs, winter pants and boots. Of course, it is important to go for clothes that you feel most comfortable in; otherwise, you won't be able to move around too much.
Footwear
- For the summer season, it is best to prepare two sets of footwear: a pair of beach slippers and elegant sandals that you can use for fancy dinner dates. Men should go for slipper-sandals that they can wear on the beach, as well as simple dress shoes for romantic dinners. Go for boots for colder weather. And just in case the hotel or resort you are going to stay in does not have one, bring a pair of bedroom slippers.
Extra Stuff
- Lastly, it is up to you if you want to bring hats as these can be especially useful in protecting yourself from the sun. There are hats and hoodies that are perfect for the windy and wintry season.
The best thing to remember when preparing your honeymoon wardrobe up is comfort. No matter how fashionable or expensive your outfits are, if you are not comfortable with what you are wearing, you won't look good in it. Confidence is a big factor in looking and feeling good - whether you're honeymooning or just hanging out with your spouse.

Make Love it's Valentines

February 14th is a day of romance, when love is in the air. We celebrate it with the exchange of candy, flowers, cards and gifts between lovers and friends. What better time for love making than this universal day of love?
It's the best kind of gift really, when you think about it. Most men would prefer it, and will never exchange it. You don't have to spend time shopping and you don't have to gift wrap it, except with some pretty panties, of course. With the money you save on his gift, you can get yourself something nice.
However, it's important to make your gift special for your true love. Get rid of all the distractions, maybe get a baby sitter, put the dogs out for a while, and toss the cat off the bed. Don't check your email and be sure to turn off your cell phones.
Put on some nice music and light some candles to create a little ambiance. Devote yourself totally to your mate and don't allow anything to come between the two of you. Live completely in the minute when it comes to love making. Try not to let your mind wander to day-to-day tasks or worries over finances or family.
Allow love to be the center of attention and watch how delighted your lover will be. Make this a Valentine's Day that he will remember for many years to come. It certainly won't be a gift that sits in the closet, never to be worn.
Although men typically have a stronger sex drive than women, lovemaking has many benefits for women too. In addition to burning about 70 calories per session, sex alleviates stress and promotes sleep.
Best of all, making love to your partner builds trust and a deeper understanding of each other, both of which are essential in a healthy relationship.

Disease and Illness Can Take a Toll on Your Relationship

When your sweetheart suffers from any kind of illness or disease it can take a great toll on your family and relationship.  Having someone who understand what you are going through can make a huge shift for you and your love.  Rustie MacDonald gets you - she understands when it comes to living with Celiac Disease.  She hosts a weekly radio show Living and Thriving with Rustie: Inspiration on Tap.

In the meantime, check out this article below.

Living With Celiac Disease - Top 5 Tips To Help Living With Celiac Disease

Our immune system is ever vigilant, ready to mount an attack against invaders. It uses inflammation to contain and destroy microbes and other substances that it recognizes as foreign, or not belonging to the body. Have you ever had a splinter in your finger and not removed it right away? The area around the splinter turned a bit red, swollen, and maybe a little warm to the touch. That was your immune system working, using inflammation to contain any harmful microbes before they could invade your body.
In autoimmune diseases something horrible happens. Your body makes a huge mistake! It identifies part of itself as an enemy and mounts an inflammatory attack against itself. Scientists believe that autoimmune diseases are caused by genes we inherit, and environmental exposures that trigger the genes to express themselves. There are at least eighty autoimmune diseases that have been identified, with more being added to the list. Different autoimmune diseases affect different parts of the body. For example type1 diabetes affects the insulin making cells in the pancreas, psoriasis affects the skin and sometimes joints, autoimmune thyroid disease affects the thyroid, rheumatoid arthritis affects the lining of the joints, and celiac disease affects the small intestine.
Although celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that damages part of the digestive tract, not all the signs and symptoms at first appear to be related to digestion. When a person who has celiac disease eats foods containing gluten, as found in wheat, rye, and barley, their immune system responds by attacking the small intestine, the site where most nutrient absorption takes place. Without proper absorption of nutrients, a person can eventually develop many symptoms and disorders including additional autoimmune diseases, anemia, osteoporosis, infertility, or cancer. Delaying diagnosis or consuming any gluten products will increase damaging inflammation.
Celiac disease can develop at any age from infancy to adulthood.
Given that celiac disease occurs in genetically predisposed persons, a genetic test can help rule out the possibility of developing the disease. Even if a person does carry the genes that are related to celiac disease, it does not mean that they will develop the disease. Genetic variants that seem to increase the risk of celiac are found in 30 percent of the general population, but only 3 percent of persons with the gene variants develop celiac disease. Scientists believe exposure to something in the environment, and changes in other genes, may trigger the development of celiac disease.
A PubMed study found that a number of autoimmune connective tissue diseases may be associated with exposure to drugs, chemicals and environmental factors.
Living with celiac disease is not easy but can be easily improved by following the 5 following tips:
  • Eliminate all toxic chemicals from your home
  • Supplement your alimentation with probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis)
  • Make sure your diet has enough Omega-3. Omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation
  • Choose gluten-free personal care products (especially lipstick and lip balm)
  • Take gluten-free fibres supplements to make sure you get enough prebiotics and fibres that are usually deficient in gluten-free diets

Is it time that you step up and stand out as a sexy, confident woman?  Get noticed by your man - or the man of your dreams.  Being willing to be in the spotlight even if that your audience is of just one - you know, your amazing guy, does not come naturally to everyone.  If you are serious about making a shift, then you need to make the effort to do some research, read great articles, books, etc. so that you can discover ways to take those steps - sure of yourself.  The more confident you are the sexier you become.  Remember though that confidence and arrogance are two different things - so use caution...it really is a bit of a balancing act.

When Smiles Are Present, Bring On The Sex

Few couples make the connection between a partner's low sex drive and a mood disorder such as depression. While most people know what it feels like to be down or have "the blues," depression is a serious mental illness that can interfere with a person's sexuality and relationship in all kinds of ways. Many people, however, don't know what depression looks like, and that's a problem, because if you don't know what you're faced with, you're going to have a hard time making things better.
Depression and a low sex drive go together in a couple of ways:
  • Fatigue is a big part of depression, so if you frequently feel "too tired" for sex, it might be a symptom of a mood problem.
  • You may not enjoy things you used to enjoy doing, and sex may be one of them.
  • Although you may be hurting, your behavior may send signals that you want to be left alone, causing emotional distance between yourself and your partner.
  • You feel lethargic, as if you could hardly move; since sex requires movement, it carries little appeal.
  • Feeling hopeless or helpless are common in depression--and not very sexy.
Feeling depressed is not a sign of a character flaw. In our culture, we are often told to "Buck up," "Get on with life," or "Smile, it's contagious," which makes admitting that one is down very difficult. Depression happens for all kinds of reasons, but is usually connected to feelings of loss or worthlessness. Depression can also be physical, as when someone's hormones are out of balance or there is a chronic illness. Unfortunately, depression sometimes gets missed because not everyone knows its symptoms.
You might also consider that one reason you may be feeling depressed is because you aren't having enough sex. Orgasm helps the body to relax. Many brain chemicals, including serotonin, are released in the brain during orgasm. If you are in the habit of denying your sexual needs, you might be at risk for depression. If you don't have a partner available or don't feel up to partnered sex, you might try self-pleasuring in order to have sexual, physical, and emotional release from built up tension.
If you suspect that depression is getting in the way of sexual connection and pleasure, you have many options for getting better, including medication, psychotherapy, and self-help, e.g., developing a more positive outlook and a healthy routine. Please be aware that antidepressants can have sexual side effects, which you should discuss with your physician. In the meantime, you and your partner will need to learn how to stay connected even though you may feel bad. Try to tune into yourself to see what you might need, rather than denying yourself. Listen to what your partner needs, too, because feeling needed may help you feel less depressed.
